BB Nudes.jpgRather, who doesn't look amazing in nude?

This July, one of our favorite brands, Bobbi Brown, launches her 2009 Nudes Collection.

"Nude makeup doesn't mean monochromatic, barely-there makeup. It means makeup that's right for your skin," says Bobbi.

The collection is as follows:

The Nude Eye Palette ($60) features eye shadow duos in a sophisticated and universally flattering selection of shades and textures. The eye shadow duos come in a customizable 3 Pan Palette, which can be filled with your choice of any Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow or Blush shades.

The Nude Shimmer Brick ($40) features five pure pearl pigments in pink, gold, bronze, beige, and caramel, the shades are designed to be blended together to give all skin tones a soft nude, lit from within glow.

In addition the Nudes Collection includes Caviar Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner ($21) one of Bobbi's best-selling liner now in a rich, deep brown shade, and four new shades of Bobbi's popular Creamy Lip Color ($22) that compliment the Nude Eye Palette and Nude Shimmer Brick.

Coach Poppy.jpg

Times are tough right now.

You lost your bonus at work, your landlord won't lower the rent, & all you can afford is Forever21.

Well, Lovie, there is good news!  Your friends @ Coach are feeling it too (!) & launched a new line called, Poppy.

Poppy is a budget friendly collection that is cheap (er!), vibrant, playful, glittery (and we love glitter...).

Per-fekt.jpgI'm ALWAYS asked for foundation recommendations, I try zillions so I always say it depends what you're looking for.

What I ALWAYS look for:

I look for quality. I spend money on bags & shoes just like the next 20-something, but that shit comes & goes, your skin however? A serious investment. And, no one wants to be the shiny girl in the corner, with shady foundation on.

After all bad foundation leads to cloggage.

Cloggage leads to pimples, pimples lead to insecurity, insecurity leads to overeating, and overeating leads to overcompensating by caking cheap shit foundation on your face.

So I look for quality!

In the summer I go for tinted moisturizers & in other months I look for a light, fresh, foundation that covers uneven skintones, marks, lines, pores, etc... (sometimes in the winter I'll dust over with powder).

But, one product I recently came across & fits all of these categories is: Per-fekt Skin Perfection Gel.

I used the Skin Perfection Gel for a month straight & I highly recommend this one.

It's an interesting product (Paul, not interesting in the bad way, interesting in the cool & wowzer sort of way!) (Oh yeah, meet Paul, he's the British BF).

The packaging of Per-fekt Skin Perfection Gel sort of mimics the product on the inside.

On the outside, the bottle seems to be made of some sort of light-weight aluminum, and is velvety smooth to the touch. Side note: not fuzzy velvet, more like a brushed, combed, soft velvet.

When you pump out the product, it looks like a thin squiggle of peach mousse.

(Side note: I was remotely turned off by this, as I am super anal about what I'm slathering on my always sensitive skin).

I massaged the foundation all over my face like a moisturizer, and at first touch to my skin, it is indeed, an interesting texture. It's not creamy, not powdery, not cakey, not mineraly, - it's literally an airy, light-weight, whipped mousse.

(Actually, it's reminiscent of most fluffy, orgasmic lemon merigue, but that's another story for the day when I discuss my obsession with food porn.)

Perfekt's Skin Perfection Gel covered all of my flaws: any visible lines, redness, pores.

It was a dream.

Per-fekt says the gel is enriched with antioxidants to repair, protect, & fight skin damage. It's helps keep the skin hydrated & healthy, and even absorbs all excess skin oils. It's oil-free, fragrance-free & paraben-free.

And how silly am I?

I actually bought the product in the wrong color (although I'm fair, the shade was way too light) but I was so obsessed that I used the too-light product for about a month. Now that I'm all faux-tanned up, I need to pick up more of this in a darker shade.

Totally impressed; and, honestly, it makes bare minerals look like you put your face into a giant dust pan.

Yes it's pricey: $57.50 for 1 oz.

PS: Fans of Per-fekt include: Rebecca Romijn, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Hudson, & Heather Locklear.

Lauren Rich.jpgHi Lovies!

I'd like to introduce you GlamourCow's newest writer: Lauren Rich. Lauren will be writing a new column called L-Worthy: covering beauty, fashion & everything in between.

xo, Elyse

A little note from Lauren:

Hi Guys!

Having grown up in the 'burbs of D.C., I was more than glad to swap the cows of Maryland (my high school was nicknamed "cow pie high" thanks to being surrounded by corn fields, farms and of course - cows) for the GlamourCows of NYC.

I used to day dream about big city life early on; so of course, I high-tailed it out of the boonies immediately after graduating high school to attend New York's Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).

After four years of salon & spa reception (gotta pay for tuition somehow - and hey, like I could really afford my platinum highlights every 4 weeks on my own...I mean, NOT that I'm not really a blonde...), numerous beauty & fashion PR internships (thank you beauty closets for all the free product I wasn't supposed to take), and trying countless undereye treatments to combat those inevitable hangovers one gets after spending all night dancing on tables while sipping cosmo's (hey, there were still cool back then), I graduated in Dec '06 with a B.S. in Advertising + Marketing Communications.

Now a fashion PR maven by day and product junkie by night, I now bring to all you fellow GlamourCows my tips & tricks, lusts & musts, do's & don'ts, trials and, let's face it - tribulations (my hair's been just about every color of the rainbow and back between over-zealous hair colorists and my own feeble attempts at self-coloring) in the beauty world and beyond.

Oh & by beyond, I do mean my pre-first date (internet dating, duh!) grooming tips, spastic attempts at wearing 4 inch heels (I'm already 5'11"), and that time when I did try wearing 4" heels and fell flat on my face in front of the W Union Square. Yes, in front of three gorgeous, single, (straight?) men.

Enter GlamourCow: Lauren Rich.

xo,

Lauren
