Hi Little Moosies,

So late yesterday night I made a mad dash over to Bloomies to (finally) buy a pair of tall glossy Hunter rain boots.
(I currently schlep around the city in gardening boots. They're Hunters; the Royal Horticultural Society collection and have a print of cabbage & peas on them.)
My potential mother in law has flown in from Wales this weekend to spend the weekend with me & the BBF. Of course, NY1 forecasts rain (even though I feel like NY1 is always wrong, but that's another story.) so I felt the need to scour Manhattan find new wellies (something plain & suitable for walking around the wet, sloppy, city this weekend). And, what's the case?
Bloomingdale's (all locations) are sold out (in size US 8, all colors, all styles).
What I did find out is Hunter is have a WELLIE AIRBRUSHING EVENT (!) tomorrow.
Who: Hunter @ Bloomingdales
What: Free Airbrushing Event
Where: Bloomingdale's (59th St. location)
When: Saturday, March 14th, 1-4 pm
Why: B/c airbrushing is ghetto fabulous & making a creep come back
*You must bring your Bloomingdale's receipt to get free air-brushing*
UPDATE: Check out these cheap Hunter's on Overstock.
I was recently telling some expat friends of mine that if they think MTV's (inaccurate) portrayal of the Jersey Shore made ratings, MTV is seriously missing out on another untapped market: the Russians.
Funny enough, this morning The Post ran a story about TV producer, Elina Miller, who wants to do exactly this: produce a spin-off to MTV's Jersey Shore but have the focus be on Russians, calling the show, Brighton Beach.
Ahh, Elina... a brilliant idea... and before I give you some pointers; I'd like to tell you, where MTV went wrong with Jersey Shore.
Some street cred about moi:
Call me a Tri-State / Boro Hoochie, but I've lived all over: Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Staten Island, Manalapan (true: I went to HS with the Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino) & summer shares in Belmar (hi girls! and ugh -- djais).
I come from a booming Italian-American family, father with an ''import export business'', and I've come a long way; to where I live now. I moved on up, way up -- to the Upper East Side.
Now, I'm not ashamed by my ethnographic background; but, MTV could've surely done better than that mishmosh of a cast they slobbed together that makes up the Jersey Shore.
I mean, where did they find these people?
They certainly didn't come from the true epi-center of Italian-Americans (Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Gravesend, South East Annadale, etc...) that flock down to the shore. (And on another note. MTV chose Seaside? Who goes there, besides Generation Y'ers post HS prom?)
February is American Heart Month. And so it should be, as cardiovascular diseases are our nations #1 killer.
So, go red girls.
This national movement was founded by the American Heart Association as a way of keeping women in the know about the dangers of heart disease. Heart Disease is the Number #1 killer of American women! We do so much to prevent breast cancer, we need to not only love pink but love RED! (And it's a good thing these two colors go together.)
What can you do to support the cause?
Wear something red.
Why not try a bright lip?
It is the hot color for the pout this year. We like Rimmel London's new Moisture Renew Lip Colour in Red Alert, Rose Passion, or Rosette.
Personally, I can't pull off red lips, but I always wear red nail polish.
So my new personal recommendation?
Rimmel's Lasting Finish Pro Nail Enamel in Stiletto.
And if you're really interested in the cause and a jersey broad like moi, there's an event in Red Bank you can attend.
There she is Miss America...
Fresh off her win, Caressa Cameron is showing up in NYC at DSW to do a little meet and greet.
I'm always curious to see beauty queens in person and ask them beauty tips.
So if you're free tomorrow night, stop by Union Square... you might walk away with a pair of summer sandals...
And hello?
Every 15 minutes, DSW is drawing cards for $100 gift cards!
