zacposentarget.jpgI spent this past weekend visiting family in the Middle Of Nowhere, Maryland. To save my sanity from the three hour car ride back home, I saw a Target in Jersey and immediately swerved into the exit and pulled over.

I've been dying to check out all the new designer collaborations at Target. From Zac Posen to Cynthia Vincent to Eugenia Kim to Liberty London, how can you go wrong? Let's face it, no matter how fashionable we may look, freelancers are on a tight budget.

I must have thrown about 30 pieces into my cart looking for a dress that can work for an cool everyday look now that the weather is finally getting nicer. I tried everything on and the winner in my race for budget diffusion line shopping was this Chambray dress by Zac Posen.

The perfect, lightweight material, pockets (which are a must), drawstring tie at the bottom, and nice fit at the bust, was a steal at $39.99.

Who said there's nothing to love about Jersey?

eugeniakimtarget.jpgI'm ridiculously excited that my HS BFF, Sam, is moving back to NYC (after doing a stint in LA) she arrives mid-may to live in Hipster-Hood Willy B., become a yoga instructor, maybe pick up a bartending gig (know anyone who's hiring?) and also continue her design career @ Eugenia Kim.

I have fond memories of Sam, like the time we took our Manalapan Rec (camp) T's chopped & bedazzled them for a homemade costume for Sunday am @ Soundfactory. Sadly, we fell asleep and never made it to go see Paris at the door. Oh well.

But on the Eugenia Kim note, if you're like moi and have a love of hats (mine: floppys) and if you already know about the designer (that you can buy her hats @ Barney's but you can get better selection in her store), then, I'm sure you also must know that she's has a line in, our favorite upscale schlocka den, Tarjet.

Just ordered this one, you like?

PS: I'm not a fedora person - it's too haitian-mac-daddy-from-harlem but, given the mint green color, I decided to make an allowance for the style.

CynthiaVincentTargetReviews.jpg

Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent has been a staple in New York fashion for years. Yet for the Fall 2010 season, Vincent has outdone herself. An unending collection of day to night looks fit for the quintessential New York fashion girl. Fur trims and lustrous embellishments compliment asymmetrical and draped pieces in velvet and silk. Not to mention, there's a heap of those printed sweater jackets you've dying to get your perfectly matte manicured hands on since fashion week.

And for the frugal gal that needs her CV fix, the Cynthia Vincent for Target collection for just launched with a slew of bright wedges and flats that start at $24.99 (!) So whether it be fall or spring, Cynthia's got you covered.

DaffysLogo.jpgLast week I went shopping on the Upper East. Went over to Grandma HQ, ORVA, to pick up a new pair of Jack Rogers (I know..., but the JAP in me had to...) and also...wait for it...the white patent Gizeh SchleppinStocks Birkenstocks.

Probably like you, I was on the fence with the Birk's - I mean, I'm 26; why am I buying near-orthopedic sandals?

Let me answer that for you: 1. I'm sick and tired of hoofing around the city and getting blisters. 2. Something was charmingly reminiscent of buying a pair of Birks, reminding me of my Jesus sandals from the 8th grade. (Yes, I wore them with socks.)

So now that I'm clearly on a comfort kick, I've found something even *better* than the Birks.

I was making my rounds to my weekly trip to Mecca Daffy's (SoHo location) and I stumbled upon popular Dutch brand, Oilily's, take on the Gizeh Birks. These sandals come in two colors: 1. teal suede inside with teal paisley straps or 2. pink suede inside with pink paisely straps. I went with the teal. They're all leather, and just as comfortable as the Gizeh's.

Price: $26.99. Located downstairs in the swimsuit section. GO QUICK BEFORE THEY SELL OUT! (PS: I can't find these sandals online and can't find the cord to my digi cam to take a pic!:( )

BTW: I've always love the playfulness of Oilily but, seriously guys, WTF? Your online site sucks.

XSballetflats.jpgThis past weekend I was on a 4 day bender in Vegas--seriously, badder than anyone in the fast lane has experienced. "HELLO, Rehab opening weekend!"

Saturday night, I happened to find myself in the very swanky and no-words-for-this-amazing-club XS located at hotel Encore (baby sis' to hotel Wynn).

I was living like Diddy in my cabana in the sky, when overheard my cousin talking to our waitress. Ten minutes later, cousin Maria, returned holding a lil pouch.

What happened next was pure magic!

Turns out in the little gold pouch there was a pair of gold ballet flats with the XS logo.

The lil pouch then unfolded to house my cousin's wedges.

Result: Party on!

I looked down at my Choo'ed up feet and heard my pinky toe whisper over the David Guetta remix, "Toni, for the love of God ask that chola waitress for a pair. Everyone gets that you're flossy. I can't breathe down here."

So I bought a pair in black ($20 cheaper than a rocks pour) to match my silk tuxedo dress, but didn't throw them on until I was waiting on the violently long 4am taxi line.

Steve Wynn: you a genius, Boo.

Budding film director Gia Coppola teamed up with nouvelle girl group "The Like" to create a short video celebrating the Zac Posen for Target collection hitting stores later this month. Coppola and Posen met years ago when he was first starting out in fashion, while Coppola and members of the girl group have been friends since high school.

Everyone in the vid is all clad in Zac Posen for Target glam-gear.

I wonder if there's going to be a pop-up shop in NYC?

The Zac Posen for Target collection will be available in select Target stores and on Target.com on April 25 through May 30 and ranges in price from $17.99 to $199.99

How is your apartment looking? Nothing says "I'm young and fabulous" like having a cool pad.

So for spring before I jump for designer wedges or over priced cotton dresses.

This is on my must buy list!

So Madonna material girl!

Houseofharlowlogo.jpgThe collaboration of style icon Nicole Richie and A-List jewelry designer Pascal Mouawad (also the genius behind the multi million dollar Victoria's Secret fantasy bra) to create House of Harlow 1960, is a match made in jewelry (and accessories) heaven.

The inspiration behind HOH is a combination of her mothers vintage jewelry and her own love of 60's and 70's fashion. This collection reminds me of sexy-hippie-meets-ancient-civilization, with its combination of jewel toned colors, tribal, and gypsy designs.

Started out in 2008 at Kitson LA, Natch... and expanded to popular online retailers (I found HOH while trolling new sites, shopkitson.com, singer22.com) as well as overseas to Hong Kong, Berlin, and Japan.

"I've always felt that great accessories are essential in every complete outfit and I wanted to create a collection that was easy to mix and match; to either wear alone as an everyday piece, or stack on to make more of a statement," says Nicole Ritchie.

I love Nicole Richie's style, she always looks cute, laid back, hobo-ish; yet, sexy and this collection sum its up to a tee. I can't believe I didn't find it sooner (!). Womp.

My most recent fave piece is this Green Gold Triangle Necklace.

Looking forward to more from Nicole Richie, Im ready for Winter Kate. Check out Nicole's interview with Fashionair.

wmagazinecover.jpgW's upcoming April shopping issue features Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler & I have a few things to say...

It's one thing to have a bad breakup...

It's another thing to do it 5 times (Brad Pitt, John Mayer x2, Vince Vaugn, Paul Sculfor, Gerald Butler) I feel bad for the Man-i.

But, to combat how the world thinking she's the most used-up girl in Hollywood (besides Kate Hudson---that bitch is fo' real on the grind), she is looking extra extra "Im-not-pushing-40" hot on the new cover of W.

The editorial inside is even better. They actually featured items we want to buy!!

FYI: W-Shop is mint! Hooray for afternoon shopping from your cubicle!

THEIACOUTURE.jpgBefore I share the miracle story with you...

Last week, Jessica and I attended the THEIA FW 2010 preview & need to fill you in.

The verdict?

Fetching frocks and fancy jackets all very wearable and designed for the every-day woman. The dresses were a gorgeous array of gowns and cocktail minis, in deep blues, magentas, galaxy inspired platinum (any Trekky fan reading?) colorful techno prints, and of course; the LBD. The deep hues were rich and luscious. And, we loved getting to know Creative Director, Don O'Neil, and hearing his imaginative insight on the upcoming season, Thanks Don!

The collection was gorgeous, but the most noteworthy item was not the collection; rather, it's how THEIA answered one girl's wish at last weeks Academy Awards.
